Originally established as C&B Italia with Cesare Cassina, the company was renamed B&B Italia in 1973.
The catalog grew through long-term collaborations with Afra and Tobia Scarpa, Mario Bellini, Gaetano Pesce, Renzo Piano, Vico Magistretti, Antonio Citterio, Patricia Urquiola, Naoto Fukasawa, Jeffrey Bernett and Doshi Levien. The brand has received four Compasso d'Oro awards, including Le Bambole by Mario Bellini (1979), Sisamo by Studio Kairos (1984) and Sity by Antonio Citterio (1987).
