Franco Albini
Franco Albini (1905–1977) was an Italian architect and designer based in Milan, a leading figure of Italian rationalism and a key contributor to twentieth-century furniture design. His work combines structural rigour with material lightness, producing pieces of remarkable formal precision such as the Veliero bookcase, the Cicognino table and the Infinito wall storage system.
He taught at the Politecnico di Milano and the IUAV in Venice, influencing generations of Italian designers and architects. The 3D Model Unity catalog includes high-precision NURBS 3D models of Albini pieces re-edited by Cassina, available for Rhinoceros 3D.
Cassina
Cassina is the Italian furniture brand founded in 1927 in Meda, Brianza, known for the I Maestri collection — licensed reissues of iconic furniture designed by Le Corbusier, Pierre Jeanneret, Charlotte Perriand, Gerrit Rietveld, Charles Rennie Mackintosh and other twentieth-century masters.
Founded by brothers Cesare and Umberto Cassina, the company is recognised for craftsmanship rooted in the Brianza district and for collaborations with contemporary designers including Philippe Starck, Patricia Urquiola, Rodolfo Dordoni, Mario Bellini and Vico Magistretti. Each piece is produced in Italy with techniques that blend industrial precision and traditional joinery, and Cassina holds the official rights to re-edit historical archive designs.
The 3D Model Unity catalog of Cassina includes high-precision NURBS 3D models for Rhinoceros 3D — sofas, armchairs, chaise longues, tables, bookcases and chairs — covering both the I Maestri historical reissues and contemporary collections. Suitable for residential archviz, contract interior CGI and post-modern furniture visualization.
